Having partnered with the National Association of College and
University Entrepreneurs (NACUE) since its inception, Tata stepped
up its support in recent events.
As
part of Global Entrepreneurship Week, Tata sponsored the NACUE
National Jump Start event for students. At the event, Mark Prisk
MP announced that the Department for Business Innovation and
Skills will provide significant funding to NACUE to enable the
roll-out of a nationwide project to inspire entrepreneurialism
across further education colleges in the UK.
The inaugural Tata Social Enterprise Conference, hosted by NACUE,
took place on the 3rd and 4th December and was attended by 200
UK students. The conference aimed to inspire, educate and connect
students with leaders and professionals from the social enterprise
sector to help delegates create ideas that can effect practical
change.
Mr. Kishor Chaukar, managing director of Tata Industries, addressed
the conference, sharing his vision of what social enterprise
can mean for business, communities and the global economy. Delegates
also heard from three students from the Tata International Social
Entrepreneurship Scheme who relayed their experience of working
with Tata companies on community projects in India.
