Charity play hosted at 51 Buckingham Gate in aid of Tata Medical Center
Trust

The Tata Medical Center Trust hosted a charity dinner and play - OMG-the lesser know side of Gandhi - in order to raise funds for the urgent expansion of the Tata Medical Center, Kolkata.
The play, researched and conceptualised by Geeta Gopalakrishnan of the Tata Medical Center, premiered privately at 51 Buckingham Gate, Taj Suites & Residences, London, on the leap year day of 29th February 2012 (symbolising Mahatma Gandhi’s own leap of faith).
Special guests were treated to a dinner created by Chef Sriram Aylur of the Taj Group’s Michelin starred Quilon, and items were auctioned afterwards by Sotheby’s to raise money for the worthy cause.
The Tata Group donated the world-class cancer hospital in Kolkata, inaugurated by Mr. Ratan Tata on 16th May 2011. 50% of the beds in the hospital are reserved for the under-privileged but this is still not enough for the large numbers of patients that require urgent attention. This London-based event hopes to raise funds to help accommodate and care for more.
The evening was sponsored by Tata Consultancy Services with Air India as Airline Partner & 51 Buckingham Gate, Taj Suites & Residences, as hospitality partners.
